Azkals vs. Malaysia: Tied Up

Yep. That's right everyone. The Philippine Azkals got a tie with the Malaysian Tigers game last night, dogs vs. cats. If you are dissapointed with the score last night -like me-, well don't be. Malaysia is declared Asia's number one and were the favorites of the game last night, nobody -except the Filipino fans, of course- were expecting the Azkals to win. Thank goodness the "underdogs of the game", the Azkals, stepped up and proved everyone wrong, making us Filipinos happy. Congratulation Azkals!
But who else to score for our country's team but new recruit, Denis Wolf. This is the second goal he scored for out national football club, this first going in against the Philippines' game against Al Ahli. Denis scored an amazing header at the 34th minute sending the audience-packed Rizal Memorial Stadium shouting and screaming for joy! It sent me screaming and jumping too, -LOL-.
A few recognizable faces were playing for the game last night: Neil Etheridge, who flew in especially for this game from Fulham and who was dressed in red last night, doubling his fieriness in the field. Jason Sabio, Juan Luis Guirado, Carli de Murga, and Ray Jonsson were handling the defense of our team, Coach Weiss calling them the "back four" of the game. The game proved that the Coach has done a lot of work to the defense of the Azkals. Nice job, Coach! Jason de Jong, James Younghusband, and Angel Guirado managing the midfield, doing a heck of a perfect job last night. Except for Angel Guirado really, who I personally want kicked out of the team -Peace-. Phil Younghusband and Denis Wolf were the strikers at last night's game, Phil missing a lot of good chances with getting a goal behind the net.
We spotted Chieffy Caligdong and Anton del Rosario over at the crowd, cheering on the Azkals last night.

Thank you so much Azkals for giving your best for your country's pride and integrity!!! Congratulations again!!! More power to the men in blue!

SIGHTINGS:

Paolo Pascual training for another game for the Bolkiah Cup in Brunei against Singapore. Good luck, Paolo! Aly Borromeo getting in shape, trying to work out his hamstrings in training with Global FC. Azkals Futbol Magazine is now out with Phil Younghusband as the front cover.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Azkals and their upcoming games....
